IN RESIDENCE: September 17 – 22, 2024

Phantasmagoria by Jack Horton Gilbert is a darkly comedic horror play where a group of six teens gather in an isolated house on Halloween night. United by a shared fear of a series of mysterious disappearances that have plagued their small town for years, they’ve come to perform an ancient ritual to end the terror once and for all…by ritualistically sacrificing the New Kid in Town.

As the night progresses, tensions rise, alliances shift, and the line between friendship and betrayal blurs. Amid their bickering, moments of fear, and sudden revelations, the teens confront not only the external threat but also their own insecurities, hidden feelings, and moral dilemmas.

The night pushes on and the boundaries between the real and supernatural grow hazy, Phantasmagoria explores themes of peer pressure, sacrifice, the obligations we have to one another, and the lengths people will go to protect themselves. With a mix of dark humor and chilling suspense, the play delves into the complexities of adolescence, friendship, and the dangers of tampering with forces beyond control.
