Will You Be My Archnemesis? And Other Super Short Stories

June 19-22 2025
IN RESIDENCE: June 17 – 23, 2025
Will You Be My Archnemesis? And Other Super Short Stories is a new play from up and coming writer and director Joseph Mann that follows a diverse group of superheroes as they deal with the “human” aspects of being “superhuman”. Through a collection of vignettes and short stories, we get a glimpse into the world of heroes and villains, after the day is saved and after the cameras are off. After an epic battle, a hero and a villain argue about exclusivity. A new vigilante struggles with his name on his first night out. A group of sidekicks question their purpose. As we move through these stories we begin to see past the fun and campy costumes and see through to the heart of these characters. Using multimedia elements and inspired by the stories and the visuals of comics from the 60’s and 70’s, Will You Be My Archnemesis? And Other Super Short Stories showcases superheroes in a way we’re not used to seeing them: vulnerable and on stage.
